In today’s post, I will be talking about what is personal branding. Many network marketers that come online hear about attraction marketing, personal branding and wonder what it is all about. Does personal branding equate to “looking good” on your pages so people will view you as an expert? I will be covering the myths of what is personal branding.

What Is Personal Branding All About – Looks?

So as I mentioned earlier, most people think or have the misconception that personal branding is all about the looks. They believe that having a really professional looking blog, a good looking Facebook fanpage and everything else that needs some of form of professionalism will help them become successful in this business.

To add to that, they go one step further by spending lots of money engaging a designer to do up all their pages for them. Guess what’s wrong with scenario? They haven’t even started making any money at all! If you think personal branding is all about how professional you look, then you are highly mistaken as that makes up only half the equation.

What Is Personal Branding Really About?

If you really want to know what is personal branding all about, it is about adding value. It is about being able to attract people to your presence, and having them to admire and respect you. First impressions do matter, but what happens after that first 7 seconds are over? Imagine this, someone drops by your blog – Sees that you’ve got a really good looking header, a professional looking theme. That’s all! After they read through your blog posts, they realize there’s no value in them, it doesn’t help them in any way and you just wasted a few minutes of their life!

So what happens to your brand? People are going to view you as a scam! Because all that you have got are good looks and nothing else. By giving value, more people are going to learn and gain from your expertise. In doing so, they will share your pages or blog posts all around the web and this will help you to attract attention from even more people. This cycle carries on as long as you continue giving value.

I have seen the most successful people in this industry without a good looking blog theme. All they’ve done is either use a free theme, or paid for a standard theme for their blog. No fancy stuff, no specialized designing – Just plain themes that are out there. The reason why they are doing so well in their business is because there is so much content and value in the information that they provide. This is also why people keep coming back for more as they thirst for more knowledge that will help them in their business.

What Is Personal Branding – The Missing Piece

Maybe you believe me on what is personal branding, maybe you don’t. The reason why I am sharing this with you is because I set up my sites to look really good in the past a couple of years back and it got me no results… NO RESULTS! It doesn’t matter how good it looks because nobody will ever see it. It was only until I realized what is personal branding all about that I started to gain some results.

Of course, I am missing one piece of the puzzle about what is personal branding. I mentioned value, but the next most important step in making sure your branding becomes strong is getting traffic to your page. You can provide the best value out there, have the best looking site, but without traffic you are as good as nothing.

So remember, the “perceived” personal branding can only help you leave a good first impression (roughly about the first 7seconds). After which, if they realize that you are indeed who you portray yourself to be, they will be attracted to you and begin following you. Once you know what is personal branding, you will know what is MLM success. If you are still not sure about what is personal branding, it is all about creating value and getting people to notice it.
