4 Most Common Blog Mistakes People Make

Many blogs are being set up each and every single day, however, most people also make these 4 common blog mistakes which get them no where. Once you understand these blog mistakes, you will be able to take advantage of this knowledge and turn your blog into one that attracts lots of attention and support.

Common Blog Mistakes #1 – Keyword Research

When I first started blogging, I believed that all I need to do was to provide valuable content and I would get a stream of visitors coming onto my site and reading my posts. I realized after blogging for a period of time, I was not getting anybody to visit my blog except my friends on my social networks.

If you want your blog to get more traffic, you NEED to do your keyword research and look for long-tail keywords which are less competitive and that could bring you in some leads. Remember your purpose in blogging is not just to get content out there, your end goal should be to get leads and close them for your business.

Common Blog Mistakes #2 – It’s All About The Design

Sure being in network marketing is alot about personal branding and attraction marketing and it is definitely great to have a very professional looking site. There are many top bloggers whom I have seen, who do not even have a professional looking site but they ARE at the top of their game. Want to know why?

Personal branding isn’t about having the best looking website out there, or the best looking fanpage. Yes, it will definitely help you in creating a first impression with your prospect and that’s it. If your content comes across as being invaluable and it seems like spam, most people would just leave the site right away and find another one where they can get answers they are looking for.

Remember it isn’t about how good looking your site is, rather how much valuable content it contains. All you really need is a decent looking blog that does not turn people off and you will experience great results. Make sure you read up my post on 7 ways on how to write a blog post to help you in making your blog more interesting and readable.

Common Blog Mistakes #3 – I Need To Get Money From Every Single Source I Can Find

When you are first getting online, it can be pretty overwhelming with all the income opportunities you can make. I remember placing banner ads and an area for “Google Adsense” on my blog, hoping that they will all make me lots of money online.

You only have 2 objectives when someone lands on your blog page. (1) You want them to stay on your blog for as long as possible, and (2) You want them to sign up for your mailing list. If you are creating tons of banner ads and having Adsense on your page, you are only going to drive people out as they will be constantly distracted by them. They will also view you as someone who is trying to make money out of them, rather than providing value.

Common Blog Mistakes #4 – Failing To Capture Information

If you have not read my recent blog post on the most important tool for MLM lead generation, you have to go and read it. In relation to the above point mentioned, it is very important to have an autoresponder on your blog to allow people to sign up for your mailing list and for you to create a relationship with them.

Without having the autoresponder, you will not be able to connect with your visitors, get them to return to your blog and have them work with you in your network marketing business. This is one of the biggest blog mistakes most marketers make when coming online.

Now that you have the knowledge of the 4 most common blog mistakes people make, be sure to apply it in your own blog to maximize its potential. Avoiding these blog mistakes could very well be the difference between having a money making blog and a blog with limited use.
