Back To Basics: Blogging For Beginners

So today’s post is going to bring you back to basics, Blogging for Beginners. I am going to be sharing a few things you can do as a “beginner” who is looking to start blogging in the network marketing industry. There are definitely many questions that you want to get answered such as how to set up a blog, what should you blog about and many others which I myself had when I was starting out.

Blogging For Beginners: Which Platform Should I Blog On?

There are many free platforms out there that you can post your blog on such as WordPress.com, Blogger.com or even Tumblr. However, my personal opinion is that you should have a blog hosted on your own website – You will need a hosting, domain and then install your blog on it (which I will not be covering in this blog post). The main advantage of having a blog hosted on your own site is you are allowed to do whatever with it and never have to feel threatened that you site might be taken down any time.

My personal recommendation would be to install WordPress on your website. Note, this is not the same as redirecting your site to a blog on WordPress.com.

Blogging For Beginners: How Should I Design My Blog?

This is a question that many beginners ask when they should be asking “How should I deliver my content?” Yes, my blog may look very fanciful and professional such that people have a good impression of me right from the beginning. Let me correct that mindset, imagine if you came on to my blog and I did not have any content – Would you still have the same credibility for me?

If you want to get your blog designed, make sure it is free from any banner ads or adsense. Banner ads will not help you earn any revenue as you will not have much traffic, and people are very unlikely to click on your ads. Same goes for adsense, with the little traffic that you have, nobody will click on those ads. Even if they do, you will not earn much money so do not be blinded by the income you can earn through adsense – It is merely a few cents per click. Also, ads on your website lose your credibility right away as your site would seem more like a classified section, rather than an information central.

 Blogging For Beginners: Where Should I Start Writing Content?

A “blogging for beginners” question asked by most people because they do not believe that they have any content to provide out there. The best way to get content is to enrich yourself consistently on a daily basis through a few means. You can do so by visiting blogs (Check out a blog post I did on 3 Reasons Why Visiting Blogs Will Help Your Business Today), reading their content, and giving your own opinions.

If you learn and teach what you know, you will be able to help more people out there with the knowledge your possess. Having your own opinions also help to establish you as a leader, as someone who has his/her own thoughts and that you are not just blindly agreeing with what everyone has to say.
